The main focus of the business is greyhound racing’s open race scene, specialising in action (though all other aspects are covered). These include portraits, presentations, personnel, track shots, behind the scenes and where time allows, commissions from owners.
Pictures are supplied on a daily basis to various newspapers, magazines and other media in both Britain and Ireland. Top events like the English, Scottish and Irish Derbies also receive international coverage. Uses range from daily press coverage, TV guides, web sites, books and calendars through to scenery backdrops for television programmes.
Media requests are of course always welcome. Use the contact page to either email or phone. Scanning from film or hard copy, colour printing (up to 17”x13”), burning to CD/DVD and image transmission (by email, FTP or snail mail) are all handled in-house. High, medium and low res versions supplied, depending on intended use. Fees by negotiation.
Up to the late eighties, the majority of work was produced on black and white negative, with colour negative or transparency used on special jobs or big races. From 1990 practically all work was shot on colour negative, with a gradual changeover to digital capture from 2003. All negatives and digital images are archived – nothing gets thrown away! Unless specially commissioned (e.g. Charlie Lister book project), all work is now in digital format.
A bespoke framing service is also available. This uses top quality materials, and prints can be mounted, captioned and framed, ready to hang, to customer requirements. Turnround on this is approx 2-3 weeks.
Many of the top class open race greyhounds and competition winners are on file, either in action or as a head shot, often both. Graded dogs are also covered, but to a much lesser degree, as my media responsibilities dictate that I concentrate on the open competitions. However I will endeavour to get a picture of any greyhound by commission, especially if it’s running at a meeting I’m already attending.
